AFFILIATIONS

The Harvard Medical School Dubai Center is part of a group of organizations committed to the advancement of health care delivery, medical education, and research in Dubai and the Gulf Region. It was created in 2004 in a joint effort by Harvard Medical International and Dubai Healthcare City. HMSDC’s continuing medical education programs and postgraduate training programs benefit from the contributions of the faculty of Harvard Medical School and its affiliated institutions. These programs are funded in part by the endowment created and managed by the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research.

Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research
The Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research was created to support biomedical research and academic programs that will advance new scientific knowledge and create a community of leaders in science and medicine in the Middle East.

Harvard Medical School
Harvard Medical School (HMS) is one of the world's preeminent institutions in medical education and research. The School, established in 1782, has over 8,500 faculty and draws upon the resources of 18 affiliated hospitals and research institutes where most of the clinical training for interns, residents, and medical students occurs. Every effort of the School, its partners, and its faculty is driven by the HMS mission: to create and nurture a community of the best people committed to leadership in alleviating human suffering caused by disease.

Partners Harvard Medical International
The organization now known as Partners Harvard Medical International (PHMI) was founded originally as Harvard Medical International, a self-supporting subsidiary of Harvard University and Harvard Medical School. Since its inception in 1994, the organization has played a major role in the development of health and education infrastructure globally. Through its collaborations with health care delivery organizations, academic medical institutions, and other key stakeholders, it has developed more than 50 programs in over 40 countries; provided training and education for hundreds of health care professionals, leaders, and students around the world; and helped its clients to achieve measurable progress, as well as national and regional recognition. The organization became Partners Harvard Medical International in the spring of 2008 under the terms of a new agreement between Harvard University and Partners HealthCare, a leading academic health care network that includes Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital, two of the flagship teaching affiliates of Harvard Medical School.

Dubai Healthcare City
Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) was developed by the Government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with the goal of creating a regional center of excellence for medical services, medical education, life science research, and development in the Middle East. The leadership of DHCC is committed to the principle of accessibility for all, to professional and academic development, and to international recognition for quality of care as well as patient privacy, rights, and satisfaction.
